What this is

This site is an archive, and the word is meant in its narrow sense: a place where what otherwise lies scattered across books, commentaries, grimoires and academic studies has been gathered and put in order. Textbook, practical manual, guide to occult work: the site is none of those.

Its subject is the Qliphoth, which the tradition also calls the Dark Tree and Sitra Achra: a system of kabbalistic demonology that took shape across a thousand years, from the early medieval midrashim to the occult synthesis of the twentieth century. Evil there counts as neither the absence of good nor a moral category; it works as a structural reality, and it has its own hierarchy, its own rulers and its own laws.

What this is not

Nothing here is an invitation to practice. The pages carry no ritual instructions, and the archive makes no claim that it transmits a tradition. Nor does the archive stand as a manifesto, religious or anti-religious or of any other kind.

The demonology of the Qliphoth is easy to turn into aesthetics for its own sake, into a horror prop, into a row of frightening names with nothing behind them, and this archive refuses all of that on purpose. When something is written here about Lilith, about Choronzon or about the Tunnels of Set, it stands there because the tradition says so, and the source is named.

Sources and approach

Three layers of sources lie under the archive. At the bottom are the primary kabbalistic texts: the Zohar, the Bahir, the Etz Chaim. Over them lies the occult tradition of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, where the working books are Crowley's “777”, Grant's “Nightside of Eden” and Karlsson's “Qabalah, Qliphoth and Goetic Magic”. On top sits academic scholarship, Scholem and Idel, and where these layers disagree the disagreement is printed and not smoothed away.

Demonic names, translations, correspondences and attributes come out of named texts. Where the same thing exists in several versions, whether that is a different transliteration of a name or a different system of correspondence, the form chosen is the one most widespread in the Western tradition. Crowley's “777” is the basis here. The reason is not any claim to being the only correct system but the fact that it became the standard for the overwhelming majority of later texts on the subject.

How to read it

The table of contents, reachable from the tree on the homepage or from the navigation panel, leads to the ten Qliphoth pages, each of which stands on its own. Nothing obliges you to read from Thaumiel down to Nehemoth in order, so begin where you like.

Who writes this

A practitioner and researcher of the tradition who has worked with this material for more than a decade. The name is withheld for reasons that belong to the tradition itself: work with the reverse side of the Tree has been passed on anonymously throughout its history. Attention belongs on the material and not on whoever carries it.

This is not a "hidden anon", and it is not a bot. Every letter, question, remark or objection is answered by a person, and that usually happens within a day, so the author can be caught in conversation and not only in a transaction.

Principles by which this is made

• Canon has priority over "interesting interpretation". If a claim is not backed by a source — it is either marked as authorial reconstruction, or it doesn't enter the archive.
• Divergences among sources are exposed, not smoothed over. Where the Zohar says one thing and Grant another — both voices sound, without after-the-fact arbitration.
• Sigils: first a historical search, then — an authorial reconstruction. Only with an attribution that this is a reconstruction. Never fake "ancient" sigils (like the "Lilith seal" of three triangles, spread since 2007).
• Nothing criminal, nothing pornographic. The subject is serious, but not tabloid. The material is 18+, but by tone, not by shock.
• No mandatory rituals and no "initiations into an order". The initiation rite at the entrance is a symbolic gesture inside the project; you may skip it, and the archive remains open.
• No advertising, no trackers, no selling of data. See the privacy policy.
• Services are interpretive texts, not "magical help". We do not promise "love spells", "curse removals" and other "I'll do it, and everything will be fine for you". We promise a dense, honest reading.

The road of the project

The archive is assembled continuously, and the table below holds the public milestones, which is not the same thing as a full chronicle.

The project moves slowly and by one person.

Contact goes through Telegram, at @qliphoth_archive. Write for any reason at all: to order a service, to ask about the material, to leave a remark, to point out an error, to argue. A reply usually comes within a day.

The same channel publishes new caravan issues, the short notes that fall between them, and now and then a quick answer to a subscriber's question.
